What is Walk/Run and Talk Therapy?

Some form of Walk/Running and Talk therapy has been around since the 1970’s. This is a form of therapy that takes place outside of the traditional office setting, typically at a park, trail, office park, etc. This form of therapy can be helpful in creating a naturally freeing space for clients to express themselves along with experiencing nature. Research has and continues to establish that exercise used in conjunction with mental health treatment can be beneficial.

What are some benefits of Walk/Run and Talk Therapy?

When combining walking or running with therapy, you can experience improved mood regarding depression or anxiety. As a result, you can see improvements in self-esteem, cognitive functioning, and self-awareness.

​

Where are the sessions held?

​

They are held at Suwanee Town Center Park and Sims Lake Park, Suwanee, GA.

​

We walk, jog, run at your pace. No matter which one you choose, it will be at a conversational pace.  

 

Weather: You will determine if you want to take the therapy session to the virtual platform if you feel the weather is not permitting for you.

What about privacy concerns with Walk/Run and Talk Therapy?

​

Walk/Run and Talk Therapy sessions are outdoors, therefore, there is some risk to confidentiality, including but not limited to the possibility of encountering a person one of us knows. Some of our conversation may be overheard by someone.  If you come in contact with someone you know, you have the right to make the decision to disclose or not disclose that you are in a therapy session. I will follow your lead and will make every effort to protect your privacy and confidentiality during Walk/Run and Talk Therapy session.

If I come in contact with someone, I know, I will not acknowledge you as my client or that the Walk/Run and Talk therapy session is counseling to protect client confidentiality and privacy.

What is the cost of Walk/Run and Talk Therapy sessions?

​

Cost $175 for 50-55 min session
